Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for releasing ₹500 crore for the preparations of the proposed Kumbh Mela 2027 in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister stated that Kumbh Mela is not merely a religious event, but a globally renowned grand festival symbolizing India’s Sanatan culture, spiritual heritage, and social harmony. The funds approved by the Central Government will play a significant role in giving Kumbh Mela 2027 a divine, grand, and well-organized form. This financial assistance will accelerate work related to strengthening infrastructure, traffic management, drinking water supply, sanitation, security arrangements, and facilities for devotees. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister had earlier requested the Prime Minister for assistance for the Kumbh.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government remains continuously committed to the development of Uttarakhand. Central support in various development initiatives — including the Char Dham Project, the All Weather Road project, and the expansion of rail and air connectivity — has proved to be a strong support for the state. This assistance will further strengthen the state government’s resolve to successfully organize Kumbh Mela 2027.
Mr. Dhami expressed confidence that through coordinated efforts of the Central and State Governments, Kumbh Mela 2027 will be established as a historic, safe, and well-organized event, and excellent facilities will be provided to millions of devotees arriving from across the country and abroad.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state government is committed to ensuring timely, transparent, and high-quality work to organize a divine and grand Kumbh Mela 2027.
